Graphisoft began developing ArchiCAD® design software in the early 1980s. They later sold the MS DOS source code to the Szenzor company, which began selling it with the name DomusCAD.
In the early '90s Szenzor passed the source code of DomusCAD on to the distributor of the ArchiCAD® program for the Benelux countries, LIPE/SoftCAD International. The company stopped distributing ArchiCAD®. They rewrote DomusCAD for Windows®, retaining the basic functional elements of the program and the development team working in Budapest. The new program was named
ArchiTECH.PC®, in order to be easily distinguishable from its "sister" program running on Macintosh®, named ArchiCAD®.
In January 1996, EdiCAD was founded in order to handle distribution of
ArchiTECH.PC®, in France. Since that time, our customers have come to know us as a professional partner and a reliable program distributor offering quality services.
In September 2005, EdiCAD became the new owner of
ArchiTECH.PC®. The company retained the Budapest development team and took over the international distribution network.
ArchiTECH.PC® is available in the following languages: French, English, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Czech and Greek. In addition to these languages, the Spanish version is nearly complete, and the German version is also being prepared.
Development of
ArchiTECH.PC® continues. Among our goals is creating the network version of the software, which would simplify teamwork for larger projects (expected to be available in 2008). With the inclusion of the new functions
ArchiTECH.PC® will become an exceptionally user-friendly, cost-effective, and professional tool.
